ONEX acquires a 49% stake in The OWO joint venture with the Hinduja Group
In brief
ONEX joins the landmark restoration of the Old War Office in Whitehall into a Raffles hotel and residences.
Dubai, UAE — In 2021 ONEX acquired a 49% stake in the landmark Old War Office development, The OWO, through a joint-venture partnership with the Hinduja Group.
The Grade II* listed building on Whitehall, completed in 1906, is one of London’s most historically significant addresses. It was the office of leaders including Sir Winston Churchill and David Lloyd George and inspired Ian Fleming’s James Bond novels. It is being restored into a Raffles hotel, 85 Raffles-branded residences and a collection of restaurants and bars.
“Our investment in The OWO is aligned with ONEX’s strategy to invest in high-quality assets and forge strategic partnerships with leading global organisations.” — Ramez Attieh, Senior Adviser, ONEX
“We welcome ONEX as our JV partner. Both groups share a common vision in creating The OWO as an exemplary and iconic global destination in London.” — Vivek Nanda, on behalf of the Hinduja Group
